1. What is Android

Android is one of the most widely used operating system. Android inc. was founded by Andy Rubin, Rich miner, Nick sears and Chris White in 2003 later it was acquired by Google in 2005.

Android Operating system is based on Linux Kernel and is primarily for touch screen devices but its is used also in televisions, gaming consoles, digital cameras.

Google has released Android source code under open source licenses which has encouraged a lot of developers to use the open source code as base for many new projects and add new features.
