1.2 Virtualization and cloud computing concepts
Resource Policies
Resource policies are sets of rules and guidelines that define how cloud resources can be used and managed. Resource policies help organizations enforce security and compliance requirements, manage cost, and control access to cloud resources.
Transit Gateway
A transit gateway is a network hub that provides a centralized connection point for multiple VPCs. This allows organizations to create a scalable and secure network architecture that spans multiple VPCs and provides a single entry point for traffic entering and exiting the network. Transit gateways can also be used to simplify network management, reduce operational costs, and improve network security.
Virtualization
Virtualization: Virtualization is the process of creating a virtual version of a resource, such as a operating system, server, storage device, or network, in order to optimize resource usage and minimize hardware and operational costs. Virtualization allows multiple virtual resources to run on a single physical machine, which can increase operational efficiency and reduce costs by allowing organizations to consolidate resources and reduce the number of physical servers they need to maintain.
Virtual Machine (VM): A virtual machine is a software implementation of a physical computer that runs its own operating system and applications as if it were a separate physical machine. Virtual machines provide an isolated and secure environment for running applications and services, allowing organizations to run multiple virtual machines on a single physical machine, which can help reduce hardware costs and improve operational efficiency.
