Juniper JUNOS Fundamentals
JUNOS CLI navigation
The JUNOS CLI provides several navigation features to help you access and manage the configuration and operational data on your network device. Some of the key navigation features include:
1. Tab completion: The CLI supports tab completion, which automatically fills in the rest of a command or keyword as you type. This can save time and reduce errors when entering commands.
2. Command history: The CLI maintains a history of the commands you have entered, allowing you to easily repeat or edit previous commands. You can access the command history using the up arrow and down arrow keys on your keyboard.
3. Help system: The CLI provides a comprehensive help system that provides information about available commands, keywords, and options. You can access the help system using the "help" command.
4. Hierarchical configuration: The JUNOS configuration is organized in a hierarchical structure, with different levels of configuration elements and options. To navigate the configuration hierarchy, use the "set" command to enter a new level of configuration, and the "up" or "top" command to return to a higher level.
5. Configuration rollback: JUNOS provides the ability to roll back the configuration to a previous version, which can be useful in cases where a recent change has caused issues on the network. The "rollback" command can be used to return to a specific configuration revision, or the "rollback 0" command can be used to return to the initial configuration.
By using these navigation features, you can efficiently and effectively manage the configuration and operational data on your JUNOS network device.
